A CHANGE IN THE HUMAN BODY
Aging
As time goes by, living things will grow. We, humans, will grow and age too. As we continue growing, our body also changes. The once beautiful soft skin will turn saggy in a matter of years. This is one of the transformations that occur to us.

SELF- PORTRAIT
by Antonio Finelli
This drawing is part of Antolio Finelli’s “Self-portrait series”. Along with this drawing, his self-portrait series are all depicting the aging population in a hyper realistic way (Barros, 2015). This drawing, among others, emphasizes the features of the face; the fine lines along his mouth-corners and his forehead. The way the facial features are drawn somehow manages to show how wise the person is from his years of living. This all helps to show a sign of aging, as the face starts to change with time.

SKIN PATTERNS
by Joan Semmel
This painting titled Skin Patterns by Joan Semmel manages to recreate what an “aging” human body looks like. He manages to do so by highlighting the sagginess of the body and the little fine lines the body creates. The way the hands were crafted, the way the strands of grey hair were arranged helps to elevate the painting by making it seem realistic. This painting thus manages to show how a human body would look like beneath the clothes when the person ages.

TRANSITIONS
by Joan Semmel
This oil painting titled transition shows the movement of an elderly. Although a little unclear on the age of the subject, it is clear that the subject is not young; as seen by her hair. Her grey hair and saggy skin are clear indication of aging. The way her facial expression changes helps to give the artwork a stronger sense of change; helps to emphasize that the lady is changing. This thus fittingly shows how the body changes with time.
