UNRJCTD (MOCK) PROPOSAL

14 January 2019

For this Mock Proposal, we had to work in a team of four to "create" and sell our start-up idea.

Initially, our project started off quite rocky as we had many ideas that were quite ambitious which made it hard for us to not only choose but to conceptualize our ideas. However, we managed to come up with another idea that we believe had a higher possibility of success of implementation.

As a result, we came up with a proposal for "UNRJCTD", which aims to reduce the number of food rejected due to their "ugliness".

ZAPIN DANCE INFO GRAPHIC
(INSTRUMENTS AND MUSIC)

7 January 2019

For this project, we had to create an exhibition on any types of dance forms. Part of the exhibition was to create an info graphic that tells the audience more about the dance form.

My group chose Zapin, which is a Malay traditional dance. My part was on the instruments and music used in Zapin dance and thus I had to research on that to reflect it on my info graphic. On top of that, my info graphic design has to be consistent and cohesive with my group members.

The designing part was a bit of a challenge as we all had different design styles that we preffered. However, we all managed to come to an agreement by mixing our different styles.

With these requirements, I managed to create an info graphic poster that I am proud of.

PHOTO PROJECT - NARRATIVE SERIES

21 November 2018

For this project, I had to curate a photograph exhibition featuring Bukit Batok East - where we had to take photographs of the area and create an exhibition.

Initially, I had a hard time figuring out which part of Bukit Batok East I want to feature. It was also hard to create an interesting  storyline and planning out the photos to take. However, I managed to overcome this by instead, deciding to start by taking photos that I wanted to. This backward way of working was helpful because for me, it was easier to tie in the different images together with a storyline than it is to take specific images to cater to a storyline. Taking photos first also helped me brainstorm for a cohesive storyline to tie them together.

ONLINE EXHIBITION

25 July 2018

This online exhibition is an assignment from one of our modules - Art History. For this, we had to pick a topic and curate an exhibition. I picked the topic of transformation and decided to narrow it down to create an overarching theme of Changing Times.

A challenge I had for this assignment was that my theme was too broad and it was hard to make the exhibition cohesive. Therefore, I decided to narrow it down further to 4 categories. By doing so, I managed to make my exhibition intent clearer and it allowed me to focus my research on various artists and artworks that suit the categories.

EDUCATIONAL GUIDE ON FREDERIC CHOPIN

24 May 2018

This piece of work is actually the very first assignment I had when I entered Ngee Ann Polytechnic. This assignment introduced me to ways of researching and reflecting my findings using my own words.

For this educational guide, I was initially afraid as I do not really understand how to create an educational guide and more so, on something (someone) I am not fully familiar with. However, with this fear, I managed to learn how to conduct extensive research on Frederic Chopin and create a guide that can be understood by people who do not know much about him and music.
